Hotel Arco Iris, Playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica

A special oasis in the middle of Playa Tamarindo, Hotel Arco Iris is a wonderful place to stay. The hotel is a small luxury boutique hotel with only 13 rooms.  The rooms are simple, clean rooms, and it is conveniently located a few minutes walk from the beach and the main streets of Tamarindo. 

We stayed in an upstairs suite which offered a perfect view of the canopy where howler monkeys visited us each evening around dusk for what we called, "Monkey Hour". This tribe of 18 monkeys frolicked along the trees for 45 minutes to an hour each day. They were feasting on papayas, leaves, and flowers (check out the video of the monkey feasting on the pink flowers below).
