The happiest of happy hours - Seattle
Seattle’s restaurant scene is booming. There are fantastic new restaurants popping up all over the city every week. This gives Seattleites an abundance of colorful happy hour choices. You won’t be breaking the bank or your pocketbook with these happy hours, but you may be breaking your taste buds and be left with wanting more.
German beer halls are popping up all over Seattle. Finally! Altstadt is a German Bierhalle located in Pioneer Square a short walk from the Seattle Stadiums. This is a hip place to grab a boot of beer and brat before a Sounders game. As long as it is not a game day, they honor a Happy Hour Monday - Friday from 3pm - 6pm. The Trio of Brat Sliders served on Homemade Pretzel Buns with onion relish is only $9.00. A flavorful Rye Battered all Beef Sausage is only $7.00 and you can pair that with their perfectly fried Pomme Frites for an additional $4.00. Venture into Altstadt for a true German Bierhalle and Brathaus experience!
Could you say ‘no’ to a plate of delicious Rigatoni Bolognese pasta for $3.95? Didn’t think so… Il Bistro’s Happy Hour menu includes an array of Crostini, Pastas, Pizzas, and Seafood. They are located right around the corner from a famous Seattle landmark - the Gum Wall. Take a stroll down Post Alley, take pictures of the Gum Wall, and after your touristy escapades, capture your true happiness while indulging in Italian food at an iconic Seattle restaurant. Happy hour is everyday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and they have prices that will entice you to visit frequently. You can also enjoy a nice glass of house wine to accompany your happy hour meal for a mere $5.00 - $6.00.
Winter is quickly approaching here in Seattle, which means it's time to wrap up in your favorite scarf, harness your inner Frenchie, and get down to Café Campagne. Their enviable location is quintessential Seattle: perched on Post Alley with great views of the Pike Place Market. Their cuisine screams Paris bistro and Happy Hour is full of Parisian choices that harken back to the old world. Take their trio of Lamb Sliders for example, served on Baby Brioche and smeared with aioli. Happy Hour wine changes occasionally and is served in a carafe. This week it is a Grenache which pairs nicely with the Beef Skewers and Pomme Frites, and for beer drinkers, they offer a smooth German Veltins. Happy hour specials are available Monday - Friday from 4pm to 6pm and all items are $9.00 or less.
Consider yourself a coffee snob? Visit Fonté Café to validate your snobbery. They pour a perfectly balanced espresso with a caramel crema. But, who wants coffee when there’s wine and Happy Hour? A Chef’s Pizza, Coconut Jalapeño Prawns with Sauteed Peaches, Pappardelle Bolognese, Meatballs with Pepperonata and Toast, and Parmesan Fries are just a few of the favorites on the Happy Hour menu. Couple any of these dishes with Wine, Beer, or Well Cocktails for $5.00. After you’ve indulged in the specials, treat yourself to their famous Espresso Martini for only $7.00. Fonté Happy Hour is served daily from 3pm to 6pm.
Envision a modern restaurant bar that is warm and inviting. A place you can call home. Happy hour at Lecosho is truly an elegant and inviting experience, not your traditional happy hour. They give you the same portions of high quality food as their regular menu, but at a much lower price. Now that the summer is over and autumn is in full force, ‘comfort food’ is calling. Their Piedmontese Short Ribs are so tender and juicy that they fall apart with a touch of your fork. Combine the Short Ribs with Brown Butter and Pecorino Cheese Spaetzel and you will be nudged into a desirable food coma. They have a happy hour cocktail special for $9.00, wine specials for $5.00, and draft beer for $3.00. What will make you ecstatic is that happy hour runs everyday from 3pm to 6pm.
Everyone loves Pike Place Market. So, how could you not love happy hour at Matt’s in the Market? Matt’s creates dishes with the best locally sourced ingredients from right downstairs. You can see those very market vendors out Matt’s windows. A Chef’s Choice Plate, Deviled Eggs, Oregon Bay Shrimp Cocktail, and the local delight of Smoked Halibut are offered for $4.00 - $10.00. A few happy hour cocktail selections are available along with beer and wine ranging from $4.00 - $7.00. Happy Hour is available in the bar Monday through Saturday 5pm to 7pm.
You can find Quinn’s at the end of the rainbow on the corner of 10th and Pike Street in Capitol Hill. This gastropub never disappoints. Their happy hour menu aka ‘Day Drinking Menu’ offers dishes that are not on their regular menu so you better give yourself enough time to explore the many items before the clock strikes 6pm on the weekdays and 5pm on the weekends. The velvety Heirloom Tomato Soup comes in a cute little carafe along with a Sage Wrapped Sausage Fritter. For those who enjoy a more substantial portion of food, be sure to select the Smoked Steak & Cheese Sandwich with Roasted Peppers or the Smoked Goat Ribs coated in a Tamarind Glaze with Mushrooms and Snap Peas. Food items range from $4.00 - $8.50 and drinks are typically $5.00 - $6.00, unless of course you desire the Whiskey Special for $10.00. The ‘Day Drinking Menu’ is available weekdays from 3pm to 6pm and weekends from 3pm to 5pm.
