Marché Bistro and Wine Bar in Pike Place Market
Could
it be true? A restaurant in Seattle
that carries wines from Castello di Verduno?
What love! A castle so
beautiful and grand in the tiny Italian town of Verduno, next to Alba. An obscure location where the Epicurious
Tennis Traveler discovered amazing vineyards, hearty cuisine, and gracious
Italians. A short distance from
Castello di Verduno is the Tennis Club Alba.
Tennis Club Alba is a beautiful club with an abundance of clay courts
and a backdrop of Nebbiolo vines. The lovely Seattle French restaurant, Marché, offers the Castello di Verduno 2009 Dolcetto by the glass. A soft, yet fruity wine that complimented the mild sheep milk cheese and the amazing dungeness crab salad. Silky smooth avocado meat prepared alongside fresh dungeness crab drizzled with a tangy tarragon vinagrette. My mouth is watering again... Add a little texture with fried shallots. What a lovely experience of flavor and texture with this beautifully designed salad at Marche. Impressively fresh and light for a late summer evening dinner. If you haven't already visited, a reservation must be in your calendar in the very near future. |
