Pumpkin Raviolli

San Diego's Little Italy never disappoints.  It is autumn here in San Diego, but the weather is outstanding with sunshine and 80 degree temperatures.  Pumpkins are everywhere and not just the real thing - there is an abundance of pumpkin treats, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin gelato, pumpkin beer, and pumpkin raviolis.

A favorite restaurant in Little Italy is Bencotto Italian Kitchen.  Everything on the menu is delicious, but their pumpkin ravioli are the best.  This dish is satisfyingly rich with 8 large raviolis stuffed with pumpkin and amaretti topped with a cheese sauce and bacon crumbles.  A perfect meal especially on those cooler autumn evenings.
