Albergo Arenauta Il Ristoro Gaeta, Italy
Albergo Arenauta Il Ristoro
Gaeta, Italy
This special little Italian deli was on the road between the town of Sperlonga and Gaeta.
We drove past this place several times on our way to downtown Gaeta, but didn't make the stop until we headed back to Rome. We sure wish that we would stopped sooner as they had a variety of Italian items for us to devour and their prices were extremely inexpensive. We began with a bottle of red for only 5 euro and this bottle was one of the best wines we experienced in all of Gaeta and as you could imagine there was no shortage of experiences with wine in Gaeta. This particular bottle was fruity and medium bodied and paired well with all of the delicious treats. All types of olives, burrata cheese, Italian meats, wine, beer, etc. This was one of our favorite places to dine on our entire trip and we only wish we would have discovered it sooner! The staff were helpful and although they didn't speak English we were able to communicate with our broken Italian and finger pointing.
Although the food was amazing, part of this beautiful experience was the view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. You could see forever into the vast sea of colorful water.
